Our Projects
BURNOUT TO BALANCE
2023
Impact Area: Improve Health & Wellbeing
Burnout has become a common experience for many individuals in our community, yet there has been limited discussion about proactive approaches, identifying its signs, and managing it effectively.

In honour of Mental Health Awareness Month, our hub hosted a panel discussion featuring experienced therapists and mental health professionals as they lead a conversation on combating burnout.
FOOD FOR YOU
2022
Impact Area: Protect The Planet
In Trinidad and Tobago, over 85% of all food consumed is imported, while Agriculture contributes under 1% to our GDP. Such a heavy dependence on imports to meet the nutritional needs of the population exacerbates environmental, social and economic issues, both locally and on a global scale.
PARANG, PARANG

Impact Area: Build Inclusive Communities
Parang Parang is a local children’s picture book set in Paramin, Trinidad. It was created from a story written by Hub members Anabelle Castagne and Christie Borely for a Global Shapers Community cross-collaboration with the Global Shapers Munich Hub that aimed at showcasing cultures around the world.
DON'T HESITATE, VACCINATE
2021
Impact Area: Improve Health & Wellbeing; Strengthen Civic Engagement
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Trinidad and Tobago, “Don’t Hesitate, Vaccinate” was a social media campaign series in response to promoting social awareness in achieving
herd-immunity within the population of Trinidad & Tobago.
MIGRANT COMMUNITY SEED DRIVE
2020
Impact Area: Deliver Basic Needs
The Migrant Community Seed Drive Project was designed to provide additional support to members of the Warao Migrant Community (displaced persons who migrated from Venezuela) through the UNHCR. The drive consisted of generating contributions and tools to purchase agricultural tools and seedlings to contribute to food production, jobs and sustainability of the community.
MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS
2016 - 2018
Impact Area: Improve Health & Wellbeing; Build Inclusive Communities
The Mental Health Matters (MHM) Project was a three part series of filmed discussions set within the Caribbean context, with the mission of improving dialogue on the causes and potential treatments of relevant mental health issues in our region, by showcasing a range of mental health practitioners and the mechanisms they use to enhance overall quality of life.
YOGA FOR YOUTH
2014
Impact Area: Improve Health & Wellbeing
The Hub’s inaugural project focused on holistic intervention addressing the high levels of reported youth violence in East Port of Spain. We believed a holistic health practice would help recalibrate at-risk students towards positive social orientation and community connectedness to enable productive self-expression and stress management, and set about initiating a solution.
